The Colloquium on Research and Higher Education Policy is another biennial event organized by UNESCO. The first one took place in Paris in 1-3 December, 2004.This major event includes researchers, experts and policy-makers and consists of plenary sessions and thematic workshops presenting studies on general and crosscutting themes for discussion and debate.
One of the strengths of the Colloquium is that it allows researchers and policymakers from all regions to bridge their respective fields and to inform one another of developments. As with the regional activities, the Colloquium seeks to bring researchers and research from developing countries to the fore.
