Main reasons for school-age disabled children not having access to education in the central region of Azerbaijan
Produced by: Aran Humanitarian Regional Development Public Union / AzerWeb, Azerbaijan, 2004
The goal of this study is to analyse the problem of unequal access of disabled children to education. The study is based on a survey of residents of the 27 localities in the central area of the republic.
Results show that out of the total number of school age disabled children surveyed, 73% did not receive any education, even though many of them are registered as students at local schools. No disabled student received a school-level certificate in 2002-2003.
